Fortnite Tournament – GamerFest Galway 2019

GamerFest Galway (The Galmont Hotel, Oct. 27th & 28th) has teamed up with the Insomnia Games Festival (The RDS Dublin, Nov. 9th & 10th) to bring you a huge Fortnite Battle Royale Championship! Have you got the Fortnite skills to go all the way and be crowned Battle Royale Champion? Then read on! 

A Fortnite Tournament will take place at GamerFest Galway on each day of the festival. Visitors only need to attend one day of the festival to be eligible for the tournament.

In order to enter a qualifying round for the Fortnite Battle Royale Championship finale at Insomnia Games Festival in Dublin, all you have to do is claim a Battle Royale at GamerFest Galway. It’s that simple!

Each player that claims a Battle Royale at GamerFest Galway will be granted entry to an online qualifier for The Fortnite Challenge at Insomnia Games Festival at The RDS Dublin on Nov. 10th.

In the event there are more than 10 Battle Royale winners at GamerFest, players may be required to participate in a final online qualifier prior to Insomnia Games Festival. All Battle Royale winners will, however, be provided complimentary passes to Insomnia Games Festival regardless of the results of the online qualifier. Please note only one pass to Insomnia Games Festival will be provided per player.

So what’s the prize for winning the Fortnite Battle Royale Championship at Insomnia Games Festival? The prize pool is valued at over €1,000.

Fortnite Tournament Rules at GamerFest Galway, The Galmont Hotel, October 27th & 28th 

In order to enter the Fortnite Tournament at GamerFest Galway, you must have a GamerFest Galway ticket to enter the venue. This can be a Student / General Admission / VIP / Family ticket.

VIP Registrations for the Fortnite Tournament open at 10.00am at the Fortnite Registration Desk.

General Admission Registrations for the Fortnite Tournament open at 11.30am at the Fortnite Registration Desk. Please note only a limited number of tournament places are available for General Admission ticket holders and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

The organisers cannot be responsible for Fortnite lag during gameplay which is beyond its control. Any games affected by lag will not be replayed.

The organisers cannot be responsible for software updates scheduled by the game’s publisher, Epic Games, which may interrupt gameplay, or indeed cause the organisers to suspend or abandon the competition altogether.

The Fortnite competition will be played on PC. Players my bring their own controllers, however the use of controllers will be at the discretion of organisers on the day.

Players will only use accounts provide by the organisers.

The competition format is Solo.

Players are limited to 2 minutes prior to the start of the game for pregame set up.

Any intentional ending of the game will result in disqualification.

The tournament ends at 1pm on each day. Free Play will then be available to players until the festival closes.

Prizes

Prizes are only awarded for winning a Battle Royale. Prizes include tickets to Insomnia Games Festival at The RDS Dublin, where players will participate in the Battle Royale Championship finale.

Conduct & Behaviour

Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, showing appropriate respect to the organisers and to other Players. All players are expected to adhere to the standards of good sportsmanship at all times.

Damage and/or abuse to game equipment, controllers, or any tournament hardware is prohibited. Any player causing damage of any kind will be liable for any costs incurred to the organisers as a result and subject to ejection from the festival.

The competition organisers reserve the right to change or amend these rules at any time.

Any player not respecting an organisers decision will risk being disqualified from the tournament, or even removed from the event.
